SONS is officially on hiatus.

What's most important for you to understand is that this is about you more than it's about us.

You've spent valuable time in your life to listen to us, to share your input with us, to tell people about us, to buy our merchandise and wake up in the morning and decide to wear our shirts and to pay money to come watch us play music. In the end, it's been your unyielding faith in us that has kept us going as long as we have. The idea that we might enter what's usually known as a "hiatus" without letting each of you know how much we've been moved and even overwhelmed by your support would be nothing short of a tragedy.

It's you that are exceptional, more than us.

You have to understand that you're special, not just because you listened to our band but because you gave us what everyone in this world is searching for, a little attention. Sometimes, we just need to be heard, and you gave us your ears and eyes and words on a consistent basis and we wrote to you. We'd spend hours thinking about you, talking about you, trying to figure out how we could make you happy and do something that you'd like - we cared. We didn't ever take you for granted, and the only regret we have is that we didn't do more.

It's difficult, at this point, to say what will happen, but as of now we have nothing planned for the future. We've returned to our "normal" lives where the exhaustion of the road doesn't follow us and we sleep in the same bed every night. It was extraordinary, in every way it was extraordinary and without you it would've just been - ordinary. We thank you.
